Who can apply?
Master’s and Bachelor’s students in the fields of Social Science, Humanities, Fine Arts or STEM. Their thesis should be of interest to academia, industry, the public sector and/or society.

CHALLENGES TO THE PUBLIC DISCOURSE – IS PUBLIC DISCOURSE BEING CONSTRAINED?
These past few years, we have witnessed the emergence of a “cancel culture”, whereby people or subjects that are deemed politically incorrect are no longer tolerated. Because of their inconvenient views, they are banned from their social or professional circles – whether online, in person or in the media.
WHAT ROLE CAN ART AND TECHNOLOGY PLAY IN SOLVING SOCIETAL ISSUES?
Throughout history, art and technology have responded to societal issues. They can serve as catalysts for difficult conversations about the challenges humankind is facing. Both are effective tools to address social issues and encourage the public to focus on them.

The Hamrin Foundation launched the Impact Scholarship in 2022. A scholarship for master’s thesis students who have made a significant contribution to society. In its first year, the scholarship has been awarded to two theses (four students) from Lund University and Blekinge Institute of Technology.
